




Have your students watch sample trailers on the ‘Trailers’ page of the website and many more on Books Inspiring Film's Official YouTube page at www.youtube.com/booksinspiringfilm. This will give them a good background before they begin creating their own trailer.
The documents posted below will facilitate your incorporation of Books Inspiring Film into your curriculum and provide more specific information on how to create a trailer. For more information or to ask questions, please e-mail BooksInspiringFilm@gmail.com.
– This document is important to hand out to students to make sure they are following the guidelines, so their trailers meet the criteria of Books Inspiring Film.
– A compilation of suggested high school reading level books from The Young Adult Library Services Association and the Reading Olympics. This list has been screened so it only includes books that can be easily turned into trailers.
– This document gives a brief overview of the different jobs that students will have to perform to make a trailer.
– The storyboard helps the students gather their ideas prior to filming, by providing a place for drawings, shot descriptions, audio notes, and general comments.
– This is an example of a grading rubric that can be used to grade the students work.



– Have the students fill this out so their trailer can be shown to others as a part of Books Inspiring Film.
